Located in the eastern coast of China, Hangzhou is the capital city of China’s Zhejiang Pronvince and also its political, economic and cultural center. As the birthplace of Wu and Yue Culture (The city was once the capital the Wu and Yue states in the 10th century), Hangzhou a place steeped in history more than 2,200 years. And the most representative culture are Silk and tea culture as well as the Liangzhu culture.

From Oct 21st, 2014, Hangzhou became the 10th city in China to offer 72-hour visa-free entry. Currently, besides Hangzhou, foreigners can also enjoy 72-hour visa-free travel in Beijing, Shanghai, Guangzhou, Chengdu, Chongqing, Shenyang, Xi’an, Guilin, and Kunming. Under this policy, transit travelers from 51 countries can stay in Zhejiang province for up to 72 hours without a visa when making an international transfer via Hangzhou Xiaoshan Airport as long as they can provide valid travel documents, third country visas and onward tickets to leave for a third country or region within 72 hours.
